Founded to close the gap between opinion and action.
Casti was founded on a conviction shared by its two principals: West Africa's energy sector did not suffer from a shortage of consultants or traders — it suffered from a shortage of people willing to close the loop between the two. Technical opinion needs a commercial path; commercial intent needs a technical backbone.
From the Accra practice, the group built expertise in upstream advisory and in-country collateral services. From the London desk, it added principal trading and logistics advisory. The two branches are governed under one investment committee — the group's commercial promise is that those two disciplines work against each other in private, and together in front of clients.
Bring institutional discipline to frontier energy work.
Our mission is to bring the rigour of international capital markets to frontier energy decisions — and the pragmatism of frontier operations to international capital. Every mandate is delivered to a standard that would survive independent audit, and every cargo is underwritten to a standard that a European trade bank would recognise.
What we hold the firm to.
Independence. We write what we believe, even when it is inconvenient. No mandate is large enough to justify an opinion we do not hold.
Concentration. We run with a small senior team rather than a large junior pyramid. Every deliverable is owned by a principal.
Implementation. Engagements close with an outcome — a filed permit, a signed contract, a lifted cargo — not with a closing deck.
Long-term alignment. We expect to work with clients across multiple cycles. Short-term fee maximisation is the opposite of the business we want to run.
A decade on record.
